Waking up the face
Since we see our face reflected in the mirror every day, it would be natural to suppose that it would be the part of our bodies we'd be most familiar with. However, although we can instantly recognise ourselves, we rarely touch our own faces and so often remain unaware of the tension that lies hidden deep within our facial muscles. This sequence has been designed to reintroduce you to your face and will counteract the ageing process caused by tense facial muscles.

  1. Begin by gently rubbing your whole face with your fingertips
  2. Then spend a few moments patting your face with your fingers
  3. Next loosen the area by pulling various faces
  4. After really waking the face up, spend some time gently caressing it with your fingers

The neck and shoulders
The neck and shoulders are a major trouble spot in the body and most people love being massaged here. The secret to giving good massage is to learn to think with your fingers. This means clearing your mind, working mostly in silence, and letting your fingers explore your partner's muscles, searching for tightness. Not having to worry about what to do and whether you know the 'right thing', allows your fingers to work intuitively.
